Montevecchio Moscato Frizzante

Montevecchio Moscato is a refreshing, light and fruity wine that has a hint of spritz. Lifted, fragrant with aromas jumping out of the glass, showing frangipane, lemon drop, ginger and that beautiful fresh grapey note. With the sweetness taking centre stage at the front of the palate, it’s delicious and fun and superbly balanced with crunchy cleansing acidity. At only 5.5% alcohol, its a wine for any time of the day or night.

Made from 100% Moscato Giallo, a clone of Moscato originating from the north-east of Italy, is a specific clone that’s commonly used for this style. We chose this clone for its quality factors of intense perfumed florals, elegance and intensity on the palate. Grown on the more fertile slopes of our Heathcote Vineyard around 150-170 m above sea level, crop levels are managed through pruning.

Picked at optimum ripeness levels with a keen eye on acid levels to balance sugars, it is fermented with indigenous yeast on solids in stainless steel tank. Kept cool to promote a long slow fermentation, it is stopped when the alcohol and sugar levels are in balance.
