Chalmers Felicitas

A truly unique Australian sparkling wine, our Chalmers Felicitas shows a complex and serious style more akin to vintage sparkling wines, with toasted brioche, wild rocket, lifted white and yellow florals, it reminds you that it is made from Fiano with some almond meal syrup cake notes and roasted pistachio.  The palate it driven with mouth filling flavours that are coiled with laser like precious.

The name Felicitas is taken from the Roman Goddess of fertility, good luck and happiness, and made with 100% Fiano from our sustainably farmed vineyard in the northern end of Heathcote.  A credit to this amazing grape, a variety that performs exceptionally well in warm climates, it develops lovely layered characteristics while retaining high levels of natural acidity, imperative for quality sparkling wines.

Chalmers Felicitas is hand picked and goes through the very same process as traditional method sparkling wines like Champagne.  It spends up to 36 months of secondary ferment lees depending on the vintage to gain those classic aromas so well recognised in vintage sparkling’s.  It is then disgorged with zero dosage, a wine that represents a pure example of sparkling Fiano.
